United States Navy Aircrewman Collar Device

Criteria: Worn by Navy personnel specialized as Naval Aircrewmen (AW), a ranking in charge of operating airborne radar and electronic equipment used in detecting, locating, and tracking submarines. Naval Aircrewmen provide information for aircraft and surface navigation and act as helicopter-rescue crewmen, as well as function as part of the flight crew on long-range and intermediate-range aircraft. Beginning in 2009, other enlisted Aviation ratings that perform flight engineer or loadmaster duties in Navy aircraft will convert to the AW rating.
