Criteria:

This is the Massachusetts National Guard Military Medal Ribbon. Awarded to members of the Massachusetts National Guard who perform a heroic act that sets them apart from their peers. The act, or acts, must be meritorious in nature. However, it cannot be as valorous as to merit the Massachusetts National Guard Medal of Valor. For additional awards a bronze oak leaf cluster is presented, while a silver oak leaf cluster represents 6 awards.
