Criteria:

This is the Massachusetts National Guard Humanitarian Service Ribbon. Awarded to service members of the Massachusetts National Guard who performed an act, or acts of notable heroism. This act, or actions must show that the recipient went far above and beyond the normal call of duty, when comparing the actions of their peers. For subsequent awards, a bronze oak leaf is presented - while a silver oak leaf cluster represents 6 awards.
