Illinois National Guard Long Service Ribbon
This is the Illinois National Guard Long Service Ribbon. On July 25, 1947, the award was re-instituted and awarded upon completion of 5 years of military service in the Illinois National Guard. Prior to 1947, it was given upon completion of 3 years. Active service will be counted if the member was called or ordered to active duty and was released back to such status after the tour of duty. Periods of previous service may be added together to meet the qualification. This award can be earned more than once and is shown by bronze and silver oak leaf clusters.
