Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation
Criteria:
The Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Award (MUA) is used to recognize organizations within the United States Coast Guard for their "meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service, heroic deeds or valorous actions". Created in 1973, additional awards are represented by wearing a 5/16th of an inch Gold Star device on the service ribbon. An Operational "O" device is also approved under certain circumstances.
