Army Superior Unit Award
Army Superior Unit Award
Criteria:
The Army Superior Unit Award (ASUA) is a peacetime award giving to United States Army units who display "outstanding meritorious performance of a difficult and challenging mission carried out under extraordinary circumstances." Originally proposed as an award in 1980, it wasn't approved until 1985, and the requirements for the award were re-written in 1986 after they had been deemed too strict as only two units had been awarded the decoration.
