United States Army Sapper Tab - Dress Metal
Criteria: Awarded to U.S. Army personnel who have successfully completed the Sapper Leader Course operated by the U.S. Engineer Officer Basic Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In order to wear the tab, an individual does not need to hold the Combat Engineer designation (MOS). The Sapper tab was authorized on June 28, 2004 by the Army Chief of Staff, General Peter Schoomaker and is award retroactively to the graduates of the first SLC on June 14, 1985. The Sapper Tab is can be worn simultaneously with the Ranger, Special Forces, and President's Hundred Tabs, however, only three permanent tabs may be worn at once. In order of precedence: President's Hundred Tab, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, and Sapper Tab.
