United States Coast Guard Cutterman Insignia
Criteria: The Cutterman Insignia represents an individual's desire to pursue a seagoing career in the Coast Guard. It is awarded on both a temporary basis upon having served 6 months shipboard and after the successful completion of specific Performance Qualification Standards (PQS). The award becomes permanent after 5 years of cumulative time afloat. The version awarded to officers is gold-toned, while the version awarded to enlisted members is pewter-toned.
