Air Force Cross Medal
Criteria:
The Air Force Cross (AFC) is the second highest military decoration that can be granted to a member of the U.S. Air Force. The AFC is given to personnel for extraordinary heroism not justifying the award of the Medal of Honor. Bestowal eligibility includes: While engaged in action against an enemy of the U.S; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or, while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the U.S. is not a belligerent party.
Additional awards of the AFC are annotated by oak leaf clusters, also the reverse of every AFC is engraved with the recipient's name.
Note:
The legacy of the U.S. Armed Forces veterans is highly protected and it is essential to the mission of USAMM. On occasion, orders are placed by customers for what we deem to be notably important and sacred awards. These awards are solely granted to military personnel for exceptional valor and heroism in combat and fall just short of the Medal of Honor. These awards are the following:1. Army Distinguished Service Cross
2. Air Force Cross
3. Navy Cross
It is vital that we protect the legacy of these awards and their recipients.
While these items are available to order through the website, we have a formal verification process that must take place before the awards are shipped. We also reserve the right to not ship them at all if proper verification cannot be provided. We take it as our responsibility to highly scrutinize any orders placed in our system for these particular awards before shipment. We have an investigative process that consists of searching national databases that list legitimate recipients. Not appearing in those databases will require submission of an official DD-214 or similar official paperwork authenticating the individual's receipt of the award.
